This performance was recorded on December 14th, 2018 by Dr. Jacob Walburn, trumpet and Dr. Thomas Nixon, piano in Cole Concert Hall using an intricate setup of various professional grade condenser microphones in 5 different positions. Impetus was commissioned by a good friend and excellent trumpet player as a piece that would fit well at any point in a recital and showcase the versatility of the trumpet/piano duo.
